Cooking & Food¶
Thirty dishes, each in three grades, crafted at the Cooking Station — talk to Kate to open it. Cooking has the widest level range of any station on the server, with recipes from level 1 to level 180.
The three grades¶
Every dish exists in Base, Silver and Golden. The difference is the star quality of the crop you cook with.
| Grade | Needs | Restores | Buff duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base | Normal crops | Baseline | ×1 |
| Silver | Silver Star crop | About 10% more | ×2 |
| Golden | Golden Star crop | About 30% more | ×3 |
Golden dishes also roll a stronger effect, not just a longer one. See Farming for how to get star crops reliably.
Buffs scale with the cook¶
This is the important part, and it's unusual:
The cook's level is baked into the dish
A dish's strength and duration are calculated from the cook's Cooking level at the moment it's crafted, then stored in the item. Whoever eats it gets the cook's numbers, not their own.
A meal from a level-180 chef is exactly as strong in a brand-new player's hands. This is the single best argument for a dedicated chef in your guild.
Duration works out to roughly the cook's level plus 15, in seconds, then multiplied by one, two or three for Base, Silver and Golden. A Golden dish from a level-72 cook runs well over four minutes; the Base version of the same dish barely passes a minute.
Dishes also restore hunger, health and mana — a Runaria addition — scaling up with tier.
The dish ladder¶
Silver and Golden versions of a dish need considerably higher Cooking levels than the base version, so star cooking is its own progression track rather than just a cost.
| Tier | Base / Silver / Golden level | Cooldown | Dishes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 1 / 15 / 30 | 45s | Root Vegetable Stew, Stuffed Turnip, Corn On The Cob, Berry Preserves, Berry Tart, Cabbage Roll, Roast Chestnuts, Leek Soup |
| Uncommon | 20 / 45 / 70 | 60s | Herbal Tea, Barley Porridge, Grapes, Mutton Stew, Plum Pudding, Fermented Cabbage, Fruit Pudding |
| Rare | 40 / 75 / 105 | 75s | Fish Fillet, Honey Cake, Venison Skewer, Mushroom Stew, Rosehip Syrup, and a second Root Vegetable Stew |
| Epic | 55 / 100 / 135 | 90s | Fig Cake, Pickled Vegetables, Gravy Bowl, Cream Custard, and a second Fruit Pudding |
| Legendary | 65 / 125 / 160 | 120s | Roast Goose, Lemon Curd Tart, Lamb And Barley Stew |
| Unique | 75 / 145 / 180 | 180s | Suckling Pig |
Golden Suckling Pig at Cooking 180 is the current capstone of the entire cooking tree.
Two dishes share names
There are currently two dishes called Root Vegetable Stew and two called Fruit Pudding, at different tiers. They're distinguishable in-game by the colour of the name — the higher-tier versions need much higher Cooking levels.
What the buffs do¶
Buffs cluster by tier. Early dishes cover the basics — movement speed, attack speed, health regeneration, defense. Rare dishes bring in true RPG stats like Strength and Armor. Epic dishes cover class stats such as Intelligence, Dexterity and PvE Damage. Legendary dishes handle premium combat stats like Critical Strike Power and Knockback Resistance.
Higher tiers carry longer cooldowns, and dishes share a cooldown within their family — so you can't eat a Base and then immediately a Golden of the same dish to double up.
Buff effects are being finalised
The cooking system's buff values are actively being rebalanced, and not every dish's effect is live yet. The levels, grades and recipes above are accurate; treat the specific stat each dish grants as subject to change until this notice comes down.
Tips¶
- The Cooking Station shows you locked recipes. Open it at level 1 and you can read the entire progression ahead of you — it doubles as its own roadmap.
- Cooking experience also trickles in passively from harvesting crops, so a farmer levels it without trying.
- Save your Golden Star crops. They're the bottleneck on the highest tier of every dish.
